Why separately first
In most couples sessions you talk about the conflict - and you are inside it before the sentence is finished.
That is not a lack of good will. It is because in a tense moment both people would have to do two things at once: stay with themselves and understand the other. Under pressure that is close to impossible unless you have practised it beforehand.
Hence this order: first each of you learns what happens inside you and how to say it. Only when both can do that do we meet together - and then the conversations hold.
The sequence
- First conversation - alone or as a couple, free. Afterwards you know whether this fits.
- Twelve individual sessions - six per person, in turn. Each works on what lies with them.
- Three joint sessions - here you apply what both of you have built.
All online, sessions by arrangement. What is discussed in the individual sessions stays there - unless you explicitly want it otherwise.
What we promise - and what we do not
We do not promise you a relationship.
What remains at the end is a method that lets you talk to each other again without escalation. What you do with it is your decision.
Some couples grow closer again. Others realise they want to go separate ways - and can do so without destroying each other. Both are good outcomes.
What we do promise is a better life for both of you. Together or apart.
If only one of you wants to start for now, there is a separate format for that: For individuals. And if you would rather get to know the system in a group first, that is what the book launch seminar is for.
The Serenity System is communication training, not couples therapy. If the first conversation shows that a different kind of support would be the right one, we say so - and point you onward.
First conversation
Write briefly what it is about. You can get in touch together or just one of you. The first conversation costs nothing.
