The story

The Serenity System was not devised at a desk. It came about because it was needed.

Before the system

Tim Schlüter spent many years working professionally with communication and relationships. As a journalist and TV presenter he worked on public communication in various settings - while also seeing how much relationships within teams can make life hard for people.

At first I mostly saw it from the outside, when others told me about their difficulties with colleagues, family or friends. At some point, though, it hit me with full force.

As an entrepreneur, the connection to team members suddenly broke off. What seemed solvable to me I could no longer convey - the connection was gone. And finally the connection to my partner at the time dissolved as well, with the same sad effect: what appeared solvable could no longer be resolved. Anger and fighting led nowhere.

The breakthrough

Still during the pandemic, Tim Schlüter began to look into what had left him so powerless: relationship dynamics and communication. First through online courses, books and the internet, later through live courses and retreats with a wide range of teachers in Germany and Spain.

In 2023, friends asked whether what he had learned could be summed up in three sentences.

The answer was no - not in three sentences. But it was the impulse to turn what he had taught himself into something that can be learned compactly, instead of spending three years, a great deal of searching and a great deal of money on it.

From practice

The system led to first test coaching sessions. Those turned into individual work, which in turn gave rise to group trainings. Today the system is also used inside companies - most recently at a mid-sized firm where fifteen employees worked with it, from management to sales.

Alongside that, several books were written describing the system in compact form.
