When we think about stress, we usually think of work, practical problems, screen time - and yes, all of that can wear us down. And yet:
The greatest lever against stress is our relationships.
What happens between us and the people who matter to us - partners, family, colleagues, friends - largely determines how well we actually feel. And when relationships are the source of stress, good advice often isn't enough.
The Serenity System shows how to shape these relationships with confidence. For many people, for the first time.
What grows out of that is a deeper serenity - and from it, renewed joy and drive.
How stress arises - and what we do
Most of our stress comes from relationships - and those can be shaped. Please click for more.
Problem
Stress
There are many sources of stress. But hardly any is as widespread - and as clearly changeable - as how confidently we handle our relationships.
Cause
Relationships
Family, colleagues or friends: everyone knows the moment when you sense that something is drifting apart. We are not heard, or no longer heard. Not understood. We grow more and more powerless in the relationship - and have to live with the consequences.
That creates stress at the deepest emotional level. And it is precisely this kind of stress that can be addressed particularly well.
Solution
Self-management
We have little direct power over other people. But we have a great deal of power over ourselves.
In The Serenity System we get to know ourselves anew. With that strength, relationships can be shaped far more powerfully.
Clear communication
Relationships consist of verbal and non-verbal communication. How often and how thoroughly it goes wrong is visible online every day - and, if we are honest, in our own lives too.
In The Serenity System we learn to say clearly where the problem lies and what we need. In a way the other person can genuinely follow. And we learn to read others in a way that makes the relationship clearer.
The result: we understand more - and make ourselves considerably better understood.
Not "tips and tricks", not "hacks", not "good advice" - but a system that actually holds.
When the world does not run the way we would need it to, the internet is full of good advice. Much of it explains situations mainly in hindsight and warns us about personality type x or y.
None of that tends to help when the next difficult moment in a relationship arrives.
The Serenity System has two parts.
One is a handful of down-to-earth explanations for why people are often the way they are - and not the way we would like them to be. Honest, and testable in your own life.
The other is around a dozen tools that become second nature through use. They make sure we handle well how people simply work: on good days to our benefit, on bad days for our protection and our safety.
It has been developed since 2020 by former TV presenter, entrepreneur and coach Tim Schlüter - out of his own necessity. The full story
Without the system
A colleague attacks me. I get angry, defend myself, the conversation escalates. I am still thinking about it that evening.
With the system
I recognise what is happening. I can place my own impulse - and I know which next step I can take.
Instead of first getting worked up about things, as I used to, I now have a far wider repertoire of responses available - one that leads to solutions much more easily.

Where should it work?
The system is the same. The path there differs - depending on whether it is about work or about private life.
Frequent questions
What is The Serenity System?
A method for difficult conversations. It makes visible what is actually happening in a tense situation - and provides a sequence that works even under pressure. Not a collection of communication tips, but a set of steps you practise and can then call up again.
How does it work?
In different formats, all of them tested: as training inside a company, as individual work, as a couples programme, or as an open seminar.
But it always begins with the same question: does what this system offers actually fit your current situation? If it fits, we find the right format together.
What does it cost?
Prices differ by format - a company training for fifteen people is in a different range from individual work.
The first conversation is free. In it we first clarify whether the system fits your situation at all. If it fits, you receive a fixed total price before any decision - no hourly rates, no follow-up charges.
Is The Serenity System coaching?
That depends on your perspective and on the format. You can learn the system one-to-one - then it is coaching, comparable to private guitar lessons or a language tutor working with just one person.
You can equally learn it in a group or in other formats. Then it is less individually tailored, but the same tools are taught.
Is The Serenity System therapy?
No. Even in a one-to-one format, no psychotherapeutic tools are used.
What can happen - but does not have to - is that the new options the system opens up change relationships as profoundly as a therapeutic intervention might.
The core difference lies in the aim. Therapy often aims at changing a person. The Serenity System aims at expanding options - options you can choose from and use to shape even difficult situations, while staying with yourself, or even finding your way back to yourself.
Does this really work online?
Yes, and better than most people expect. The trainings and individual sessions so far have all taken place online, in small groups with cameras on. Participants named exactly that commitment as helpful - you are present, visible, and cannot quietly slip away.
How much time do I need to set aside?
That depends on the format. The company training covers eight sessions of ninety minutes over eight weeks. The open seminar runs across nine Sundays. Individual work is scheduled by arrangement.
Does my partner have to take part?
For the couples programme, yes - it starts with a first conversation, together or separately, and then works with both. If only one person wants to work on it, individual sessions are the better route. Something often shifts in the relationship there too, because one of the two starts behaving differently.
